Abstract
Incarcerated ovarian hernias in the Canal of Nuck present a unique and challenging clinical scenario. Ovarian hernias occur when the ovary protrudes through the canal of Nuck, a remnant of the processus vaginalis in the inguinal canal. Incarceration can lead to complications such as strangulation, torsion necessitating prompt diagnosis and surgical intervention. This is a case of 4-month-old baby who was brought to hospital with complains of swelling in the left inguinal region. The patient underwent inguinal herniotomy procedure. Excised specimen was sent for HPE. Histopathological examination revealed ovarian stroma with hemorrhage, necrosis and inflammatory cell infiltrate. Presence of histology of fallopian tube was also seen. Imaging modalities such as ultrasound and MRI play a crucial role in confirming the diagnosis. Surgical repair is the mainstay of treatment, with laparoscopic approaches increasingly favored for their minimally invasive nature. This abstract highlights the importance of awareness and timely management of incarcerated ovarian hernias in the canal of Nuck to prevent potentially serious complications.

Key words: Canal of Nuck, Incarcerated, Ovarian hernia, Processus vaginalis, Strangulation
